With these tough times that we are all facing. Everyone in their own capacity has been hit. It’s been gloomy, sad, depressing and anxious at times as none of us even know when will the world heal. What will be the new normal?

How will we revive our businesses or health or wellbeing? How will we settle back into life again? These thoughts can be really overwhelming. What you have to also know is that all of us, the entire world is facing the same dilemma. So, it’s very natural to question the universe, the power of gratitude at this time. This is when you have to take a step back and check yourself. We can’t only be grateful when the sky is pink, we have to be all the more grateful when it’s gloomy outside.


We are all blessed to have our families safe and with us, we are healthy and staying safe. We still have our mind and body which has more than enough capability to rebuild. We have survived terror attacks, two world wars, natural calamities and we will survive this too!

While reality is bad outside, the one in your mind doesn’t have to be. Every time a scary thought pops up, say “Cut, Cut, Cut” three times and block that thought. A negative mind is a swamp. You don’t need your mind to be cluttered with it. Be grateful for each day that goes by. For each moment we are all living.

With the world on such a standstill, all businesses taking a hit. No one has their fancy life anymore. Everyone is living as basic as one can be. Celebrities are also cooking and cleaning in their homes. This is a great time to reflect on that and stay humble. Stay humble and show compassion for the world. I strongly believe that we have all been put in this situation to really sit and work on ourselves. When we think of a time in the future when things are better, we must also think of how we will conduct ourselves and what really mattered when the world was on a stand still. It was you. Gratitude keeps us humble. It keeps us grounded and also more in line with ourselves. I can’t stress enough how important it is to stay grateful. Let your friends and loved ones know how much they mean to you. If someone has their birthday or anniversary or were to be engaged, make an effort with a group to make them feel special. Make a video, bake a cake, click a picture collage or just anything creative. But get together and make it special. This is the time for compassion, humility and love. Even if someone is low or has lost someone during this. Be there for them, check in on them or just drop them a message every now and let them know that you are there for them. Trust me this is the time to come together

Staying POSITIVE in your subconscious and conscious mind is so IMPORTANT. Co-existing with others in a confined space can get tough. Fearing and worrying about the future can be frustrating too. But trust me when I tell you if you don’t say positive, it will only get worse. You will go crazy and be really upset.


Whenever you start getting negative, check yourself. If a certain situation is upsetting you, move away from it. Pause and tell yourself I will cross the bridge when it comes. If you are feeling agitated with people at home. Go into your room, watch some funny or feel good movie. Calm down and be grateful.


If you haven’t noticed, see how the Earth is healing, the flowers are blooming. If you live in Mumbai, a city that never sleeps. You will hear birds around your home now. Delhi, is pollution free. The ocean is blue again, the marine life is coming close to shore. There are no car accidents, there are fewer criminals on the streets. The world is uniting together for a change instead of always dealing with conflicts to a great extent. There is a silver lining to this also. It’s just what you choose to look at. Choose to look at the good, choose to look at the positive.

This time is given to all of us to work on ourselves and for that be grateful. In the race of life, there are so many times when we say -Oh if I only had the time to work on myself, I would. Well guess what that time is now! This is the time to learn about yourself. Evaluate your behavior, will, inner peace, mental strength since this lockdown started. How have you dealt with this change, with all that is going on have you made efforts for your family, have you tried to create tough situations for anyone? We cannot control others, but we can control ourselves.


Take this time and learn about yourself. Learn who you are, discover new things about yourself, pinpoint what makes you happy, what worries you and break it down. Go over it and think of the worst possible outcome. It will not feel so scary anymore. Reflect back and see what all you have overcome in life already, all the struggles you have faced and come out of it. The strength is within you. Have faith in yourself. See what made you the fighter you are you will always have the strength to keep fighting.
